Zouk You

Columbus is getting it's first and only Zouk weekly classes! Starting May 2nd Dance Konnection will be hosting Zouk weekly classes every Wednesday from 8:45 pm to 9:30 pm. Come join us for 45 minutes of Fun! We will be covering foundations it beyond. Zouk is a modern dance characterized by sensual body isolations, long steps and striking head motions. This light and airy dance has a slow-quick-quick rhythm (or I like to say "Boom-Tick-Tick"). There can be breaks in the footwork, with dancers staying on the spot, using only body isolations and counterbalance to connect with the music. What will I learn? *Techniques for Lead & Follow *Body Motion *Partnerwork Patterns *Connection to your partner and the music Each week will focus on a different Techniques and Patterns. Zouk can be danced to a variety of music and a variety of moods, making it a versatile dance to know. The music has French Caribbean roots. Lets all help to make a Zouk community here in Columbus.
