This is a new *not-for-profit* group that is focused on bringing *quality* events to our local dance scene. Here's what we have in store for you so far (we're adding more stuff daily!): 🎼🎧🔊♫ Zouk Teachers, DJs & Musicians ♫ 🔊🎧🎼 💜 Guest Instructor Ivo Vieira 2 HOUR Open Level Workshop: “Funky Combos For Social Dancing” Born in Portugal, parents from Mozambique and Angola, Ivo Vieira has devoted his life to spreading African and Latin-American dance throughout the world. Since 1998, Ivo has trained in Brazil, USA and throughout Europe bringing his unique style, singular passion and unparalleled experience to hundreds of dancers. While working as a choreographer and dancer in various performances, festivals and events, Ivo has risen to become one of the world’s premier instructors in the African styles of Kizomba, Semba and Brazilian Zouk. With great respect for the traditions and history of these dances, Ivo brings his vast knowledge of the Afro-Latin idiom from around the world to expand and explore what they can become. Ivo Vieira currently live in the US where he aspire to innovate and share his love of Zouk and Kizomba around the world. Our proceeds from these socials will go directly into making the next event even more awesome! After a few events, you might wonder, can it even become more awesome than this? The answer is YES! We want to expand the definition of our "usual" Zouk social and go far beyond the limits of any past expectations! We will also incorporate ways to be able to raise money for charity. For this social will be raising money to be donated to Make the Road, a charitable organization dedicated helping immigrant communities 'make the road' to a good life in the US through Legal and Survival Services against discrimination, abuse and poverty; Transformative Education, Community Organizing, and Policy Innovation to rewrite unjust rules and make our democracy truly accountable to all of us. All proceeds will be matched prior to being donated.
