Our Foundations to 8-Count Lindy Hop series is perfect for beginners who have never danced before, dancers who have been dancing a while and feel comfortable with 6-count Lindy Hop and are ready to learn more, for those looking for a refresher to focus on fundamentals, or to those wanting to learn the opposite role!
Lindy Hop is the original swing dance born out of the Black African American communities in Harlem, New York in the late 1920s/early 1930s. The dance is known for its playful nature, focus on improvisation, athleticism and playfulness. Lindy Hop is danced using a mix of 6-count and 8-count patterns to jazz & swing music.
This series will be focused on 8-count patterns and shapes like swing outs, circles, turns, promenades, and more!Through the class, Tasha & Erik will teach a variety of these moves and teach you all the fundamental skills of connection, rhythm, pulse, and musicality.
This class is progressive and each week builds on the last. Drop in’s are welcome during the first two weeks, so you may try the class before you commit!
